Singing Gestalt

Portrait of Nancy Lunney Wheeler

Songs are more than tunes—they are little houses in which our hearts live.

Within your unconscious lives a library of feeling, wisdom, and memory—carried in the songs you know. From lullabies to songs of love and longing, you hold an emotional vocabulary you may not even realize. Even if you think you've forgotten the songs, your subconscious has been holding them since birth.

If singing in front of others terrifies you, this workshop is for you. If you've been too shy to try, this is your chance. Singing Gestalt invites a deeper connection to your emotions—through a self you may not have met.

Nancy Lunney Wheeler, MA, MFT, is known for integrating Gestalt with singing, an approach she developed and has taught at Esalen Institute and internationally for many years. She currently serves on Esalen's Board of Trustees, and is based in Santa Cruz, California, where she conducts in-person sessions for groups and individuals.
